The annual Dunsborough Arts Festival is 21 this year. Come celebrate on the Labour Day long weekend of Friday 26 Feb to Monday 1 March, 2021 . The guide is available to download here.
Starting from a small half day event in 2001 it has grown into a huge celebration of arts and culture. There will be local music at the evening concerts on Saturday and Sunday, Dunsborough X Factor youth talent show and an art market on Sunday, circus, drumming and bellydancing workshops and artwork by the Dunsborough Art Society and much more across the weekend!
For the second time there will be celebratory fireworks on the foreshore on Sunday, presented by philanthropist Dianne Laurance, to celebrate this significant anniversary!
Also there is the DPA’s Sculpture by the Bay which started in 2010. You can meander the foreshore and Seymour Park for the outdoor exhibition or stroll to the Christian Fletcher Gallery for the Small Sculptures Exhibition, now in its third year. Don’t forget that you can even buy the sculptures if one takes your fancy and vote for your favourite.
This weekend is coordinated by a huge team of volunteers from the Dunsborough Progress Association, with the objective of bringing people together to celebrate and promote the substantial local art that abounds in the region – and all for free thanks to the funding from the City’s Community Event Program and Lotterywest, Dianne Laurance and the sales from the bar! Donations are gratefully accepted!
This year there will be more food vans than ever across the concerts and all day Sunday, and don’t forget to bring your blankets and rugs to keep warm!
And don’t forget the Art Market. For just $40 you can rent space to sell your art or craftwork to the hundreds of visitors on Sunday, February 28. For more information, click here.
